Privacy policy
Effective September 17, 2026. How we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you contact us or order from us.
Peptide Atelier is operated in Edmonton, Alberta. We handle personal information under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you send an inquiry or place an order: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, province, the products and quantities you ask about, and anything you write in your message.
When we ship an order: the shipping address and contact details the carrier needs to deliver it.
When you pay: Interac e-Transfer payments are handled by your bank and ours. We see the sender name, the amount and the reference. We never see your banking credentials, and we do not accept or store card numbers.
Automatically: our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — for security and to keep the site running. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers, and this site sets no cookies.
Why we use it
- To answer your inquiry, confirm stock and send payment details.
- To process, ship and track your order, and to contact you about it.
- To keep the records Canadian tax and accounting rules require.
- To protect the site and the business from fraud and abuse.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the business, and only what each one needs:
- FormSubmit relays contact-form submissions to our email inbox.
- Google Workspace hosts our email.
- Netlify hosts this website and stores its server logs.
- The shipping carrier receives your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
- Financial institutions process Interac e-Transfers.
Some of these providers operate outside Canada, mainly in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there and be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information when a law or a valid legal order requires it.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: at least six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as Canadian tax rules require.
- Inquiries that do not lead to an order: deleted within twelve months.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention policy.
How we protect it
This site is served only over HTTPS. Your information is kept in password-protected accounts that only the people who fill orders can reach, and we share it with no one else. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep. You can withdraw consent to future contact at any time. Email info@peptideatelier.ca and we will respond within the time Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act allows.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies and tracking
None. This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no advertising or social-media trackers. The only third-party requests it makes are for the fonts it displays.
Age
Our products are supplied for laboratory research and our customers are adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site or order from us after a change means you accept the updated policy.
